The new year presents us with many unique opportunities. As we settle into classes we will also be working towards new heights. Check back in for updates!

With the near concluson of our research phase 1, we get ever closer to actually creating our vison of the Craigie Hall bus loop area. For this next phase 2 that will begin next week (Oct 20ish). We will have opportunities for people to help with drafting, rendering, plan construction and other odd-jobs that are needed to create a well balanced and defensible plan. We are well into phase 1 of project Colombo. We are gathering student opinions and thougts about our proposed redevelopment, and hopefully they indicate that this is favored by students! Our site analysis and technology research is on. Interested in helping out? Message the Bureau. There are plenty of things to do.

We have decided to pursue an upgrade for the Craigie Hall bus loop facilities. We are currently investigating the viability of heating shelters and the best ways that we can create seating and shelter for people waiting for busses and who are jsut hanging out in that area. Drop us a line if you would like to join the team.

We are in the process of finding out the viability of our proposal. If you are interested in this aspect of design, cost estimates and other processes, come out and put your skills to work.

We are also creating our primary site analysis. This may be of interest as well to you. Let us know if you would like to help us map the patterns and layout of the ground, wind, movement etc. of the area. Make a project out of it.

More openings added weekly. Keep your eyes peeled for the ones that suit you.

There will be room for us to propose multiple ideas for the "quality money" that the SU has set aside for projects. If you have an awesome idea, share it and see if we can make it work.

If you want ot help out with the projects we have already started on, please do. There is more than enough room for people who want to help make these proposals top notch!

Today we learned that it is most exciting to go after real change, to make a difference. Now, we are going to work with the school to make a small, but substantial improvement on campus utilizing the 'quality money' initiative run by the SU. We are trying to create an irresistable way for the university to encourage earth-friendly student choices, and to improve the aesthetics ans prominence of the U of C as an innovator in design and envromentally sensitive design in the oftentimes harsh Alberta weather. More to come! Come out Thursday for the meeting and get the low down on this incredible opportunity. Nothing here is for sure, but If we put in the necessary effort I am certain that we will achieve positive change.

All of the meetings next week will be project oriented. For those of you who have not been with us for long, orientations will be provided and questions will be answered. Try to make it out to at least one of the meetings next week if possible. This is where we will begin to organize the groups and when you will have the most control over your direction this semester, although, don't get me wrong, your control will not be sacrificed in any great amount. Interested project leaders and assistant leaders would be best getting in early and contacting the Bureau immediately if the times we come up with do not work, but you still are hopeful to be active in these projects and more.
